decided to be on the ball and enter early! I'm a bit confused on what size the image should be though..........?I know there was a post a while back but I can't find it now.
Former horseback riding instructor followed by pediatric occupational therapist now artist/illustrator!
I polished an illustration I did last fall now that I understand photoshop a bit better ! Getting ready to have a website going
also was working on losing the linework a bit. I'm not very good at linework and I like working on edges so am learning to lean into that a little
calling it done and moving on
I did this in procreate, forgetting I needed to give myself time to work on it in photoshop live and learn! It loses something in translation.
Anyhoo, I made it the deadline so I am very proud of that because it’s been hard to focus.
everyone who made the deadline should be proud of themselves, and anyone who didn’t should cut themselves a lot of slack. No big deal. It’s been a rough month.
Stay safe everyone! Hugs too!
nothing new but picking away at a few pieces I have shown before. On the dinosaur one I added a bit of a haze to the background to maybe push it farther back, deepened the cast shadow on the dino and tried to pop the girl out a bit more from the tree (but not too much). With the mouse I am doing more painting and toouchupps and kind of losing the line work that was there initially.
well it's not perfect, still figuring out how to use photoshop! Only my second piece really........but it's done and I \m glad to be a part of this. Thanks for the chance to share.
@Norman-Morana I was wondering that afterwards, ie the watercolor texture. It's awesome. Did you do the thing where you change the channel or whatever lol. Sorry, I am just trying to remember the steps I saw Will use in his digital watercolor course. There was some complicated pathway about channels and selecting things and then it gave the ability to color it. Maybe I should just go and rewatch that part of that course LoL
Btw I agree flipping it leads eye out too quickly. I like the slight rotation on the periscope, it definitely stops the eye From travelling out of the illustration!
Beast. Not sure if I like dark or light pants better. I might go with light because the evil Gaston (but oddly charismatic in some sense - ok I’m crushing heavily on the Luke Evans actor who played him in recent movie lol) will have dark pants.
I love this image so much. I think the idea of having it as a spread with the periscope looking out over the spread is pretty cool. Seeing as people read left to right (in our part of the planet anyway), maybe horizontally flip it? Carlianee’s idea of flipping the way the periscope is looking if it’s just a single page is good too.
The lamp light is wonderful.
Is this is watercolor or digital or a mix ? Really lovely.
@TessaW thanks for your input! Good advice on Belle. I kept reworking her face today and not done yet but getting there.
Beast I wanted hunched sort of, good to know it looks like shoulder shrugging not hunched, I'll work on figuring that out too
@Nyrryl-Cadiz ooh that gold against that blue! Knockout! ️️️️️
@baileymvidler thanks Bailey! Good point on the heights. Will consider that as I move into"final for now" renders lol. Funny we made that same mistake on first assignment shapes. It's really hard to not put all the detail in straight away. But it really makes a lot of sense as you move forward in the course. Yahoo for our improving understanding of these concepts! Yahoo! Lol
And the eyes thing... I like both too and it's hard to figure out what's right and when. I suppose that is something else we'll eventually figure out after lots of practice. I'm still not totally in love with her face but I'll get there I hope thanks for commenting and have a great day
