Who is doing INKTOBER this year?
-
If you are doing it, what are you going to be doing?
I personally am creating an alphabet book primer poster using kids from around the world using the prompts like so:
"A is for Allison, who liked to know it all, but she lost her mind in a crystal ball.
"B is Billy, who wanted to get riches, now he has to wear a suit that always itches..."I have names of kids from various countries all doing ridiculous things that ought to be funny.
I am going to try to channel my inner @Braden-HallettI need to practice drawing kids since I almost always draw animals or adults.
So...Alrighty FOLKS! What are you going to be doing for inktober?
-
I’ll be doing it. Really just to have something to draw. I’ll just be doing whatever comes to mind. I’m sort of struggling with knowing what to draw.
-
At this point I can't imagine a year where I wouldn't do Inktober! I made a comic last year but I have no idea what I want to do this year. @chrisaakins I love that you're doing an alphabet, that will be really cool. I think I want to follow the prompts this year and make it into a story but I don't know if I can pull that off.
-
@K-Flagg your comic last year was amazingggg! Can't wait to see what everyone does this year
-
@ambiirae oh my gosh thank you!
-
I'm joining in. My regular characters are busy in a comic so I'm creating a one off character as a thread for this year's prompts
-
I'm considering it but instead of a cohesive theme I'm going to challenge myself to use materials I already have and not buy any new art supplies for the challenge.
So if my favourite pen dies, tough, I'll just have to use some other pen I have lying around. -
I’m planning to. I’m in desperate need of improving my brush pen skills. Or lack therof So I’m\d like to use Inktober as the catalyst for that.
-
Hey @chrisaakins I’m definitely joining in Inktober this year. I think this is year 4 for me if I remember correctly. I talked my daughter into doing it with me (she was 4 when she started) so she’s pumped to get cracking again this year. Not sure what I’m going to do for theme or what not, it’s looking like it’s going to be a game day decision but I must say I like your idea!
-
I'm in. Trying to figure out what I want to do, though.
I've done Chuck (TV show 2007-2012) fan art the past two years, but I'm leaning towards just doing pieces that can be candidates for a Middle Grade illustration portfolio this year.
-
I'm gonna try!
-
@chrisaakins That's a great idea. I was thinking about doing all the prompts and putting them into one big poster. Maybe a fall theme
-
@keithryanstudio Great idea! At one point I was thinking about doing a giant Halloween spread in which a set of parents or grandparents open their door for trick-or-treaters to see thirty-one kiddos dressed in each of the prompts. I scrapped it because I wanted to focus on drawing kiddos and I figured drawing costumes and masks might hinder that process. Feel free to steal the idea though. I would love to see someone do it.
-
@chrisaakins I am planning on it! I'll be working on the prompt list... It's already out so I can start brainstorming 🥳

I am going to try to channel my inner @Braden-Hallett
Dude, I'm trying my best to NOT channel my inner Braden. He's TERRIBLE.

I may borrow this

Yup...I'm joining as I can. Working on a web comic about "She & Me," the joys/challenges of single-parenthood.
Best of luck to all that are drawing... -
@Braden-Hallett I LOVE the idea of kiddos in prompt costumes....do it!
-
Yes! This will be my first time and I want to do it to learn how to draw. I need to get the bad drawings out of me to get to the good ones, like they say on 3PP, lol. I don't even care if they are awesome or awful, I just want to skill up. And it sounds fun!
-
@Braden-Hallett please do! I bet it would be hilarious. I want a cut of all your kudos though. like 30%.
-
Thirty-one kiddos in costume is a really cute idea! I love it!
My inktober is going to be 31 character designs from a setting that I've had floating vaguely around my head for a while. It's about a tiny village surrounded by wilderness with some very peculiar inhabitants in it.
I'm trying to focus on pushing my character designs as well as becoming more comfortable with traditional mediums. (Going to the art store this weekend!)
