Mary Blair. https://www.pinterest.com/ashleyisenhour/mary-blair/ I guess I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't know who she was until recently...the funny thing is I had all these reference images on my desktop of all the Disney stuff I love for years but had no idea who the artist was. Turns out they were pretty much all by her. Beautiful design and use of color in all her work. 0_1476806859397_3124e545492c2d753b1a9139b80f7592.jpg 0_1476806874332_o-ALICE-900.jpg

@smceccarelli: Thanks for the mention my good friend! Much appreciated πŸ™‚ I have stopped posting my works online, except occassionally on instagram πŸ™‚

You can find them here: instagram.com/old_qfwfq

They are very different from the ones I have done here, but hope you enjoy them πŸ™‚

@Sami Oh wow, your new work is just as beautiful as the one that caught my eye! You are going more representational and less stylized...are you working on a graphic novel?

Reviving this old thread - because I have just discovered a new artist that blew my mind. I often "discover" new artists, but this one .....really....
                    His name is Chris Beatrice.
Realistic rendering may not be the thing nowadays, but apart from the fact that he does it at absolute mastery level and his painting skills are breathtaking, I have rarely seen somebody so skilled at color, light, composition and unusual viewpoints.
                    Absolutely inspirational and worth studying:

@smceccarelli I'm glad you revived this thread. I hadn't seen it and there is so much worth looking at here. I could spend hours on this thread alone.

@smceccarelli Wow, Chris Beatrice's work is beautiful! I just realised that I did a tutorial of his quite a while ago. The one based on the lute player, small world πŸ˜›

                        Thanks for the inspirational thread!

Some stunning images here! He’s probably already well know but I’ve been avidly following Brandon James Scott recently. Some great characters and love the style of his recent posts on Instagram. Here’s a current favourite...

Okada Chiaki (or Chiaki Okada? I don't know which name is which). Every piece grips me with nostalgia.
