Here's some stuff I do in my sketchbooks, etc. I do this as much as possible, but always feel like there is never enough time for it. I like painting more than drawing so I tend to lean that way when sketching. Most of these are quick. 10 min up to an hour maybe...Life-drawing-1.jpg

Oh boy you're making me want to bust out my water colors again. Though I think my tubes are all dried up.

@Jake-Parker you can rewet those old tubes by adding a little bit of water and gum arabic. That's another reason I love watercolor. Just cut open the tube and put the powedered remains on a plastic palette, then mix the mixture in.

PS: for others out there wanting to try watercolor, not all of them are made equally in terms of re-wetability. Windsor Newton colors will NOT rewet back to their tube strength. I use M. Graham paints for sketching because they can always be sprayed with water and become totally workable again. Schminke paints will also re-wet easily.

Love the watercolor scenes - beautiful use of colors and the looseness of the medium.

wow these are impressive! Your gesture figures are beautiful! As someone who never had the speed or looseness to do gesture drawing well, I'm a little jealous! 🙂 And your watercolor paintings also have this great in the moment feel to them. Very well captured and very expressive.

@margaretintexas there's a watercolour sketchbook class coming early November and I'm assuming it's Lee-white teaching it as he seems to be the prolific watercolour guy.
