Introduction to Prop Design - Looking for fellow 'classmates'
-
@PieterVanDerBeek The rendering is looking really nice! I like the simple color choices. Keeps the design clear and easy to read
-
@PieterVanDerBeek i really like how you have kept the rendering simple, the reflected light of the light bulb is done well. The shadow on the plunger could be a little bit darker. Other than that this is awesome.
-
Final rendered piece. What do you think?
-
@robbery I like the little bit of damage, the wrinkle the chip in the base. Those details really give the object a story - a history.
-
Here are my five thumbnail sketches for my lamp design! (might have went a little overboard with the details, oops!) I'm going to have a hard time choosing just one to take to final
-
Alright, here's my final detailed sketch! Working on structure as of now
-
@Mairin-Kareli do you still need help with your art work?
-
@robbery yes please! I have been thinking to build a drawing the whole thing out of cubes and rectangles and then refine.
-
Here is my 3/4 structural lamp sketch. On to rendering!
-
@Mairin-Kareli so looking at your drawing, I think youโre right, start off drawing it in cubes and rectangles. Or if you want to do a big 3/4 rectangular cube, break it down to 3 sections.
What I have been doing is making an X corner to corner top and bottom on the box and another line connecting the x. This helps me understand the space I have with in the box, also helps keep the 3/4 view of the drawing.
I do like the design, it has a very earthy feel to it. -
@robbery Thanks for the advice, I will update this thread withthe results. Thanks so much for taking the time to help. I really appreciate it.
-
Here is my polished and rendered lamp! I learned a lot from doing this. On to the rest of the course!
-
Finished render!
-
@Mairin-Kareli It looks really good!I like the gnarled tree roots design a lot
-
@Jacy13 thank you!!
-
@Mairin-Kareli I like the design of this lamp. Amazing.
-
@robbery Thanks so much! It was a challenge - now working on the full set - chair, table, cup ...
-
whats all your thoughts on this? still need to do the chair and clean it up a bit. been really preoccupied with too many things these days and illustrating has kinda unfortunately fallen to the side a little....but im getting back into it!
all this was done on my wacom tablet. feeling limited in my lack of ability to draw like that....thinking of getting a huion pen monitor. would love to get a cintiq but its just not within the budget at the moment. -
And, here is the rest of my prop ensemble! I learned lots throughout this course, and I'm ready to tackle the next one Any comments or critiques are appreciated.
