NEW PORTFOLIO SITE
-
@lora_chaudavis i totally know your struggle. I almost wrote my life’s story on my first site when I was still starting out. Over the years, I’ve learned that less is more, maybe I don’t need to share the more private things about me. For a bio my rule of thumb is I like to include where I’m from, how I got started in that field like how I began doodling as a kid, my training in that field like college or online schools, what I’m currently into, and some fun tidbits about me.
-
@TessaW yeah! i’ve actually weeded out a lot of my older pieces that didn’t embody my current style. I’m moving towards a flatter style and I like my pieces to show that. As for my books, yeah, i’m also really excited to see it grow. I have a book coming out soon. I’m also working on my own book so let’s hope that it happens sooner than later.
-
@NessIllustration Thank you! I wanted it to be as simple and efficient as possible. I wanted the viewer to easily switch tabs no matter how far down they’ve scrolled. though I must admit I kinda hate how bare I’ve made it . All thanks should really go to you tho because you introduced me to adobe portfolios.

What a fun page to land on - it's so bright and colorful it just makes me smile! Looks great!
-
Wow, your website is so vibrant and lovely! It has a sort of minimalism-elegant feeling.
And congratulations on your forthcoming book in 2021! Just curious, did you get the deal through your agent? and I guess you must be busy with that book now, looking forward to reading it
-
@ina thank you! I’m really happy you like it.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz "Old friends" was supposed to be a compliment, and sounded very positive in my head. I hope it didn't sound like an insult! Lol. I just meant it's fun to see some familiar pieces and it makes me feel special to have seen some of them as WIPS.
-
@TessaW oh, no! I actually didn’t see it as an insult as well. I totally understand what you mean.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz I think it looks more clean than bare
-
@idid thank you! Yup, I got it from my agent but I completed it last May. We’re just waiting for it’s release. I’m not sure when tho. I’ll have to ask my agent again. I am however working on my own book that I plan to crowdfund on March. Let’s cross our fingers that it goes without a hitch.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz Sound cool! Best of luck for launching your book!

Hi Nyrryl
Looking good
Just a few pointers if I may, a little SEO wouldn't hurt:
- Links - Rename links of actual pages, even though the menu items stay the same
nyrrylcadiz.com/about change to about_nyrryl_cadiz_professional_illustrator
and "books-and-projects to childrens_books-and-projects"
and "work" portfolio_nyrryl_cadiz_professional_childrens_book_illustrator - Images
Rename images... instead of "9d861ff9-5690-4c04-99fb-612cd8c2f1b3/65f5caa5-94d3-4fc7-b06f-0757bd50aa42_rw_1200.jpg" images should be renamed like so "kids_scene_playing_swings_ castle_pretend_play_nyrryl_cadiz_childrens_book_illustrator.jpg - Call to action
At the bottom of each page, I would put a call to action button " Work with me", link it to contact page - Footer
You need to put something like " Copyright 2020 Nyrryl Cadiz | All works displayed are prohibited for resuse without permision "
- Links - Rename links of actual pages, even though the menu items stay the same
