@kylebeaudette I have always loved your sculpts!! Super nice! I think for lighting that starting with a diffused light that lights the whole area evenly then adding directional light and possibly raking light to capture important texture would help make the lighting feel more natural or real...this is what i remember from helping to photograph sculptures some 25 years or so ago...lol ...the lighting right now makes me picture the lightbulb right outside the window - you probably know all of this...and i could be wrong..anyways ...great work 🙂

@kylebeaudette I love stuff like this! I don’t know exactly what to call this type of sculpting but I really enjoy it. It reminds me of this indie game called The Dream Machine. It’s got some very neat artwork!

Yeah, I need to buy a bunch of lights. Im lighting some of these pictures with an IKEA light that comes with a glass shelf. I saw some toy photographers used little lights that could be attached to the table, I'll look into that I guess

@kylebeaudette Looks well cool. Good to build them a world to live in. I think your creatures would suit being lit in a German expressionist style set. Aperture do amazing small lights and they can be meshed together. I was looking at getting one, the Aputure MC RGBWW LED Light. I've got a couple of their bigger lights and they're brilliant. The Aputure MC can turn any colour, plus they have a number of lighting FX like - paparazzi, Fireworks, Faulty bulb, Lightning, TV, Pulsing, Fire, Party, Cop Car. It's the size of a credit card.

Basic set so far, going to try filling in the corrugation on the cardboard and painting it ti see if that adds much for the work involved.

Love the lighting on the black and white ones. Makes it more cinematic. Have you seen the animation short film The Maker (by Christopher Kezelos)? Worth checking out if you haven't. I really like the way It has a shallow depth of field to pull the eye around the scene. I think you'd appreciate the characters oddness.
