Hello again, I'd like to share an article I wrote about my thoughts learning digital 3D skills so far in case anyone finds it useful.
Software that aims to make 3D art creation fun and intuitive

I've been learning 3D since 2018 after being inspired by posts on this forum and by various other observations about the uses/benefits of knowing some 3D for concept artists and Illustrators and documenting my progress with my art blog. So far I've used several different software's, always trying to find ways that compliment my 2D skills if possible. Grease Pencil in Blender is looking an increasingly useful tool for visualising ideas in 3D, but I haven't really tried it yet. Blender is getting easier to use BTW, so I encourage anyone to try it- it is free anyway.

I'm learning 3D sculpting, the only software I haven't tried for that is ZBrush, but I really like 3D Coat so I'm still on the fence about whether to get it or not, and as it is still in the beginner hobby stage I still feel ZBrush might be overkill.

Really liking Curvy 3D as well lately, I figured out a method of making 2D heightmap images into 3D meshes which works really well with it.renderdoorlightweb.jpg
