@arielg said in Got the Kamvas 22 Plus Last Week:

thanks for the update. the resolution thing is not annoying to you?
I own the kamvas 15.6 or something.

from what inch does it starts to get to 3000..5000?

So far no. Admittedly I've never used a 4k screen, so that might be because more that I haven't seen what I'm missing out on. So that might really depend on who you ask. I know people who think iPads are unacceptable resolutions, so I think there's a lot of preference there.

On your second question - I'm not sure I understand how to measure that πŸ™‚

@jdubz Ive seen a 900$ huion 24 inch with 2.5K resolution. so i'm guessing it has to be much bigger for 4K definition.

but its not that, the thing with these tablets is that when you do careful color fills you need to get to pixel size to get it right. which sounds to me kinda clumsy with today's technology?

@arielg Yeah quite a bit bigger to get that full definition - the newer Wacom's are full 4k in the Pro line. And yeah I did see what they're calling a "QHD" size, which I think is like 2550x1440 on the 24" Huions and XP-Pen pro models.

I kinda figured if pretty much every Wacom Cintiq until the last couple years was working just fine on a 1920x1080 resolution, it ought to be fine πŸ˜›

@jdubz im sure its fine yes. in regular size you wont see pixelated so that's most important.
probably having fun there i bet, with that kind of size.

I mean do you feel a difference in freedom over the page/canvas ? I'm guessing yes?

@Nyrryl-Cadiz what about something more reasonable like this for a stand?

                or this

top one might be a bit small but the other one is 40 quid (A2 size).

@sigross I tried a couple of these, even one of those adjustable laptop stands and they just kept falling short. Like the wooden one shown here - the lip isn't substantial enough and would need to be modified to hold the tablet. And you'd want to then put some kind of grip material on the surface so it didn't slide around.

I think I actually spent more money trying to adapt cheaper stands than just buying the real deal hah.

But like this one here from Huion from what I tell will go into any vesa mount configuration and it's $50. So far that seems to me to be the most reasonable one that is the most adjustable. I bet some of the other knockoff manufacturers also sell similar stands separately, but I can say this one is very solid.

@sigross hi! I haven’t tried any of these but they look sturdy enough. You should give them a try and let us know your experience. As for me, I’m such a cheapskate so I’ll stick with my $0 towels for now. Nothing beats free stuff. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

@Nyrryl-Cadiz And towels are multi-purpose too! tbh for my iPad I have a mini-bean bag just to angle it a bit. I could probably use that on a bigger drawing pad too (or get 2 bean bags). It's got 2 perfect settings.

@sigross the incredible thing is that you can type and draw and it stays still. I use a skullcandy push headphones case when I need to prop my 12.9 ipad pro at a low angle

I'd be interested to know how things have gone over the last couple of years as well. I'm a pretty happy iPad Pro + Procreate user, but always looking to see where things are at with the Cintiq's and Wacom alternatives.
