NEED HELP- Having Cintiq Troubles Again
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz I hope things get better for you and yours; here's hoping the damage isn't too serious.
I myself don't own a Cintiq, but own of my family members dropped her phone in water once and, after doing some research online, found that it was helpful to allow the device to lay/be covered in some rice for a day or two; the idea is that the rice would drain/absorb the moisture from the device. If I recall correctly, it only half worked for her phone. Perhaps, the results would be better for the cable, since I don't think the electronics of a cable are as complicated as a phone?
Best of luck for you and take care.

My recommendation would also be the rice bag trick....should only take a day or so

@Jonathan-Malski @K-Flagg thanks guys. i’ll give it a try

Sorry to hear:( Hope you get it working! hair dryer is also a good option. I have washed my phone in a washing machine and hair dryer helped

Update. Things have gone for the worst. My cintiq won’t even turn on. Of course it would happen now that I actually have some jobs to do. I feel so defeated. I’m contacting my seller for warranty.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz warranty??
-
@Shyam-Sailus yes?

Hi @Nyrryl-Cadiz . Sorry to hear this happened. I think cables are pretty tough and that the Cintiq is displaying the no signal sign because it needs to be reconnected to your computer which you can do through the Control Panel of your computer and then Add A Device. As the cable disconnected from you computer I remember this happened to me whenever I took the laptop for other use. I realised it was better to not disconnect cables from the Cintiq and computer because this 'no signal' sign came up and I didnt' want to waste time reconnecting and reconfiguring. I hope it is just this.
-
@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson my cintiq does not turn on anymore. I think it’s something else.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz Oh no. I didn't realise it didn't turn on.
-
@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson it was still turning on this morning but when I checked on it to night, it was completely dead. The screen is not turning on, the power LCD is not lighting up, nothing.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz Seems like your cable then, so frustrating!! If you can try a new cable that would be the next best thing to try. Sorry. I hope you can get this sorted with your warranty asap. Good luck.
-
@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson thank you

I would definitely just buy a new cable, even if it was in water for a second, I don't think it would be a good idea to plug it into Cintiq (especially if one of the heads of the cable that goes into Cintiq was in water). I'm not sure whether this might have damaged the Cintiq, but I hope evrything works out with a new cable.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Hi, I am reading your case and I am terrified. I hope it is only the cable. Can you find someone in your area to borrow cable from.? So you can see where is the problem. A year ago I hade some cat trouble with my sintiq cable and I ve made research and I found that it cost around 80 euro. But you must me sure that the problem is in it. That makes me positive that is it the cable that when my son's ps4 cable died it looked that the console whas was dead. But it was the power source. ASK for cable from someone to check it or if there nearby some wacom center. Good luck.

Maybe there is a computer shop close by where you can bring your laptop and Cintiq, and ask them to try some of USB-C cables that they sell. I did that once when I was trying out to get 4K, the people in the computer shop gave me multiple cables to just try them, without having to actually buy them if they don't work.
-
@TamaraDomuzin hi Tamara! Thank you so much for the advice but there’s no computer shops in my town. Yup, we’re that small. I think I’ll have to buy some cables online. Unfortunately, i don’t have any other option.

If you have Wacom link plus try connecting with HDMI or Mini Display port Cables

@Shyam-Sailus hi! Yes, I’m already using the HDMI cables. It was the usb-c that fell into the water. I just bought my cintiq last February so I think the warranty still stands.

@Dima-Eichhorn thank you! Unfortunately I don’t know anyone who has a cintiq in my town.
