Nanowrimo Anyone?

Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) starts today - is anyone else joining as well? Want to be my ‘buddy’?

This is my first year and I’m going to try to finish a Cinderella-twist Middle Grade that I’m currently about 10,000 words into. Hoping to find some friends on there to cheerlead for!

@Cayleen Awesome! Added you I just have my plot basics written out, but not much of the meat figured out so we’ll see I’m hoping by doing that it’ll help my pantsing habits - at least I’ve got some goal marks to hit. I’ve got almost 10,000 words already but I reread them last night and there’s some major inconsistencies that I’d even forgotten I’d written! Hopefully if I get it out down within one month everything will be fresh in my mind and I won’t make so many wrong turns. Although, the majority of those 10,000 were just me feeling the story idea out. I have three different beginnings, all of which will probably get tossed

@VeronicaMui First draft is for yourself, right? I basically write a bunch of chaos the first round, like a rough sketch for a drawing. But I know it will get better when I revise it (next month) so I have to keep reminding myself to let go of perfection and just keep going, lol.

@Cayleen you’re right about that! I haven’t deleted anything, but I wanted to at least make sure I knew the angle I wanted to come from. It’s been a few months since I’ve touched this manuscript. Trying to learn how to finish things
