Hello from the Philippines!
-
Hi everyone! I'm Jeannelle. I've been a member of the forum for some time but I haven't been active before. I've decided to change that and step out of my introvert bubble a bit.
I'm a multimedia designer for my day job- I do graphic design and motion graphics. I try to do illustration whenever I can. What's weird about me though is I took up Microbiology as my college degree - which I took thinking it will be a safer career path- and I do like science too. But illustrating has always been what I loved and so here I am.
I found out about SVS thru a recommendation from another online training. I'm a bit of a hoarder of online training, to be honest. I love listening to 3PP podcast whenever I'm working.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing our progress together! Thanks for reading.

Hi @Jeannelle-Pita and welcome to SVS
-
@Jeannelle-Pita Welcome Jeanelle! Your watercolors are so beautiful!
I think you did the right thing following your heart and your true passion! Life is too short to have regrets. Especially since we can only guess at how safe things will be, we can't know for sure!
In high school, me and a friend were art buddies, we both loved drawing and always talked about it and helped each other improve. I ended up pursuing it as a career, while she chose the safer option of event planning. Guess who has turned out in a bad position during this pandemic... Events haven't really been a thing for a while. We never know how things will turn out! If I'm taking risks either way, then I'd rather go for what makes my heart sing!

@Jeannelle-Pita Kamusta Jeannelle!
It's nice to see another Pilipina join SVS. Other Pilipinas include @Nyrryl-Cadiz and @donnamakesart.
I was also born in the Philippines, but my family migrated to the US after only one year. I majored in architecture which is also odd but yet some skills from my major helped influence some of my art. I think you can do the same with what you learned with your microbiology degree or your liking to science.
Looking forward to more of your work!

@Jeannelle-Pita Hi! I'm also a Filipino. I was really glad that there are lots of Pinoy who loves art and Illustration the same way that I do. I'm new here, and still learning my craft. I'm pretty sure I will find lots of inspiration here. Nice meeting you!๏ธ
