I am hoping that this fits the spot illustration criteria. Seeing all the entries make me wish that I had my own Yeti chef. Great job everyone! This is done for now. I want to make some revisions and repost later, but am not sure I will have time this week. Here it is just in case:

@KathrynAdebayo I love the perspective on this one. You can also tell that the girl is enjoying the aroma.

@ValD The colors and style are great! I love that the yeti has to wear leg warmers. What's the story there?

Several other people had the same idea as I did and rendered it better! Nevertheless, here is mine. Yeti resized.JPG

Not sure if it's because I'm from the UK but a bit stuck with Flare vs Flair, flare is to do with fire and flair is more like skilled (if I heard it and didn't read it I would picture more like skilled). Anyone got any clarification? πŸ™‚

@hayleyannececil I had the exact same thought! I kind of took it as a pun. A flare is also a survival item for the wilderness, so I immediately imagined a Yeti trying to cook something with a flare he stole from a camper. I haven't seen anyone do that so far...

As I didn't participate the last two months, I was happy to jump back in this month. I didn't read the whole prompt though, thus didn't integrate the sub-prompt into my first drawing. I think my yeti has a lot of flare though πŸ™‚

I went back to the drawing board and worked on a second illustration. It was fun doing it in color this time, as well as cooking up my own little story!

β€œYeti cooked with flare...” First, that unintentional typo had me giggling, then it inspired this spot illo. Funny how one word can change the meaning!

So here’s my yeti, chilling out β€œalone” on his Nepalese hillside, cooking with flare(s)...

@Tiffany-Thomas thanks so much! This prompt was so much fun to draw.

Yeah... the typo was the first thing I noticed, and like a five-year-old, I giggled and giggled about it. It just struck me as really funny! But then, I thought "hey ... a yeti cooking with flares is really interesting. It's also something that could feasibly happen ... how many mountain climbers might leave behind emergency flares for curious yetis to find?"
