Some newbie questions.

Hello everyone , I’m new the svs and just want to say hello and introduce myself .
I’m Irish Spanish living in Madrid where I moved to from Dublin to study animation and illustration a long time ago at least 15 years ago..... I’ve never had a career in illustration persay , a few odd freelance work here and there but it never really took off. So I’m giving it a second run and svs is really helping me out with refreshing what I already knew but forgot and most importantly learning new skills that art school never thought me and listening to the svs podcasts I can really see now how they didn’t prepare me for a career what so ever so I’m so grateful I found svslearn just by chance and I’m feeling more confident I can give it a real chance this time round.

If you got through that big long speech thanks for reading so here is my questions. The monthly contest, when do they do the voting and do they announce it first to participate in the voting and where? Another question is when they say you upload your entrance last day of the month before midnight, I asume it’s midnight wherever you live or is it a certain time zone?

Hello, welcome, Isabel!
I can answer a little bit of the voting question: I think it's usually the second Thursday of each month, but I could be off about that. They've been announcing it on their Instagram and Facebook a few days beforehand. There will probably also be some conversation about it in the monthly contest thread in a week or so. If you're an SVS member, you'll get an email with a link in it the day of the voting. I think non members can join to watch but not vote via their Facebook page.
