      Hello all!

      New to the forum; been taking the courses for a few months. I used to work as a fine artist/gallery artist when I lived in GA. I did pretty well for myself w the typical ups and downs. Moved to Minneapolis a few years ago w my wife and then petered out on art. I took a full time job doing paint and drywall and now have found myself out of a community! In GA the pay wasn't fantastic and there wasn't a lot of upward opportunity. At least not w what I was trying to do at the time and given the perspective I had (I blame BFA programs but that's a different topic).

      Anyways, after moving I've taken the odd commission while working on personal projects and general craft/practice, but I still have not really linked up w any local artists. Of course covid made that closer to impossible for the time being, but I wanted to put out the feelers for anyone in the area, as well as to say hello to everyone.

      For the curious my work is on instagram.com/illuminattyice and I'm working on a website now.

      Currently laid off, typical lay off that us union commercial workers get, which is nice, it's a paid vacation where I can work on my portfolio. And I'm trying to drill down on what I want to focus on: ie, fantasy/comics or children's illos.

      Thanks y'all!

        Not sure how to feel about you being laid off, but welcome to the forum!

          @Braden-Hallett thanks! Nice to join.

          It's typical to get laid off for anywhere for a few days to a few months every year. So I don't sweat it. It's basically a paid vacation bc of UI.
