How did you find out the book you illustrated is on pre-order?

Hi, everyone.
For those who have books out in the world, I have a somewhat strange question: How did you find out your book is on pre-order?

So far for me it was kind of strange: basically no one from the publisher side told me directly. When the book is out on amazon, or other online book stores. I found out by coincidence almost every time when one of the books I illustrated were on pre-order.

Is there something I did not understand?
