So I just got some Copic markers, and the paper I have doesn't blend them at all! It soaks through the paper a little but it has no bleed. This is what I got

Has anyone else used this paper with Copics? Is there a trick I'm missing? What papers work for you guys that blend well and doesn't bleed?

I use the paper that Jake Parker recommends:
        https://www.mrjakeparker.com/tools

        Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover, 80 lb, 8 1/2 x 11
It has a smooth finish that's great for inking and markers. Also, works well in my printer. Warps with watercolor.

@Mara-Price I thought that's what I got... Except I got 100lb. Would that make a difference? I'm getting these results in a quick first layer.

Am I doing something wrong? I also used some regular cardstock that's toothy and got a smooth blend but it bled like crazy so I couldn't get s thin line.

@Meg-Clayburn-0 I noticed that Jake Parker uses Copic markers. I think that your 100 lb paper should be better than 80 lb. Maybe you just need a clear blender?

I use Prismacolor clear blender, colorless double-nib. It works very well.

Try the Copic blender. Apply it first and then add your color with smooth pressure. Work fast while the paper is damp.

            Hope this works for you,

Copic Marker XPBC is the only paper I would use for Copic markers because it allows for ultra-smooth blending. I've checked several other journals with my markers, and none of them come close to this level of consistency. It's dense and strong, making it ideal for artwork and greeting cards.

@Meg-Clayburn Hi there, figured I'd chime in because I used Copic markers for years and my favorite paper was Strathmore 400 series Mixed Media. If you want something that's smooth but has a bit of a tooth and doesn't bleed at all I highly recommend. The paper scans nicely and is also great if you want to add colored pencil over the top ;). Here are a couple details so you can see the quality.

Firstly, this is an amazing forum with some spectacular piece of art. I am a paper writer, but other than paper writer, I am also a painter. I am into Mandala art.
