So I've been kinda flipflopping on introducing myself (everyone who has introduced themselves is really good ahhh!) for the past week or so and finally decided why not...?

I've been lurking around the forums for the past month or so now, and finally replied to a few posts recently trying to break out of my teenie little shell (I have such a tendency to just be a little ghost)... So, personally, I’m an artsy wildlife enthusiast and have had a fondness for both nature and art since I was a wee little one (I mean, what kid doesn’t?). My educational/career path is a long one, starting with a B.Sc. in Wildlife Biology from McGill University in Quebec, Canada. After a small taste of a scientific career, I pursued my passion for the arts and got diplomas in both Graphic Design & Digital Photographic Imaging, after which I landed a contract job as a digital photographic retoucher. These past few years I’ve been taking some art lessons here and there, and am currently on a quest to comfortably label myself as a freelance illustrator.

Recently my progress has been put on hold as I became a mom x2, but I kept up with the rare pet portrait commission. I'm trying to get back into illustration seriously now, and am SO happy to have found SVSLearn via lots and lots of podcast hopping. I don't have much experience with full on illustrations (yet!), but here's one from a while little while back, plus a pet portrait just because it's more recent. Both are markers, pen and pencil, which are currently my tools of choice.

@carlianne I have a 3 (4 at the end of the summer eeeep!) and 2 year old Are yours boys/girls/both? I have two girly girls (so weird as I was a tomboy)

My daughter is also very girly I’m not sure what to do. However my son is also into shorts which also confuses me LOL

@carlianne I was hoping for a boy/girl duo, but now that I have two girls, I think they're just perfect They're pretty much into everything now (my oldest knows more about construction vehicles than I do, and my youngest's first word was "bumbabee" so they're all over the place) so I'm not sure what their future hobbies/interests will be. My youngest's daycare instructor told me she's particularly good at art-related things so I'm crossing my fingers that it sticks!

I'm thinking that if it's part of their environment, they'll be more likely to be into it!
