My idea for love - little mouse who misses her Grandma, sending her a love letter to heaven. Experimenting with watercolor look and I think I might play with the ink, not quite what I want. Thoughts and comments welcome!love final3.jpg

Sweet image. I like it very much-I love the simple feeling and soft watercolor look, the red dress and red balloon. I could be wrong about this, but I do feel like the mouse needs a bit more detail and definition. I find myself looking at her face really hard, trying to bring something into focus. Maybe start with her eye.

@anthemsweet I figured out how to look at the image all at once on my laptop instead of scrolling it and I think my first comment about this was probably wrong. Now I think the simplicity of the mouse is probably fine--maybe just a tiny bit more of shadow, maybe not. Sorry for rambling on here so uncertainly! I think your work is lovely! .

Thanks! I think I might mute the colors a bit (started a but too bright as usual) - the beauty of working digitally. Piece is definitely not finished but I still have three evenings to go...

I like this better. Might add a few more details and such before Thursday.

@Rebecca-Hirsch - your new update is quite interesting. You can feel the gloomy sadness the little girl has now that you have the more muted colors and grays around her. But then there is this happiness in joy that is happening around the balloon. There is so much added emotion with just these simple color changes. I really like that.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was going for, nice to know it comes through as intended.

I love the new glow on the balloon, and you must have lightened the note to Grandma because it stands out much more- the muted colors really make your jewel tones pop=very nice
