 @ajillustrates thank you so much. Yeah it's my go to now.

 In the last critique arena they mentioned the format would be changing.. is that for this month as well? Just curious what it will look like

 @LauraA I have know some comic artists to do their line work in pencil and then use a program like Photoshop to darken the value enough that it looks like it might have been inked. Just an idea if you still want to use pencil.

 @Annaaronson I'm curious about this too, as I haven't been able to see the critique arena in live stream this summer, and no new recordings seem to be available after May 2021 for me. I feel way behind.

 @ajillustrates Agreed. Love the line art for this and the character design!

 @AustinShurtliff Thanks for replying. Lately I have been doing my work with a modified Kyle hi res pencil and do the values either with digital watercolor or with Kyle's gouache a go go and /or some collage textures. In this case, my character has hair that in my opinion would look better done with a pencil/charcoal texture and so far I've been using gouache a go go, which is a gouache but looks more like crayon to me. I like the effect and don't want to change it, but don't know what the judges will think. And then there's the matter of whether I can finish it, considering all the non art things I've had to catch up on this month. Hope so!

 This is my first of three character sheets for Inktober. I have not posted it to critique arena yet, because I want to decide which to submit once I finish the other two. These characters are from a middle grade novel I am currently working on. I decided to draw them for Inktober because I need to flesh them out a bit.

 @aurelia Oh it would be great if I can enter more than one. I am afraid I won't be able to choose! Thank you!

 @KGatto sorry for the delay, but
 yes, you can use one spot color!
-

 @Frogpunzel yep, gray is ok!
-

 @LauraA the image doesn't have to be square, it just needs to be sized to fit in the template, if that makes any sense As for the background info, a sentence or two is great! Just enough to get a feel for the character As for the background info, a sentence or two is great! Just enough to get a feel for the character
