Facebook & Instagram are down?

@Nyrryl-Cadiz also what's app, Facebook messenger and Oculus. Basically all of their products have been down for about 6 hours. Something about their DNS not working or something technical blah blah blah.
My brother works for Facebook and he's told me before that they use an internal messaging system so I'm sure that's also down and everyone is working remotely so I'm sure it's total chaos over there right now

It's been nuts today. It taught me two things: that I probably need to detox because I kept compulsively checking to see if it was back and when I actually have art that I want to post I can't...hahaha

@carlianne from what I’ve gathered so far, it seems like Facebook did this on purpose after the whistleblower revealed information about FB algorithm, about how it promotes hate coz inciting anger is the best way to keep users on their platform, and allows them to earn more money.

@lpetiti i totally agree. If proven to be true, this is very damning for their company. All that hate, anger, and misinformation they’ve amplified has negatively impacted the world
