Illustration or Drawing/Painting????

I didn’t realize the difference between a Drawing and an Illustration until just recently. In my mind, I was Illustrating, but in reality, I was simple Drawings/Paintings pictures. Looking back at my 400+ pieces, I can clearly see where I have improved over the years. I can only find a small handful of images that I might categorize as an Illustration though. Do these count as Illustrations?
