my inktober 2022 project idea
-
i am new to this forum and found it through the 3pt perspective podcast... (which i absolutely love, guys!) i have attempted inktober a few times in the past but could never quite pull myself through the entire month. this year is going to be different. i'm sharing my concept with you guys...I was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few years back and surgery is coming up fast, but i'm physically and mentally ready, so no worries. none. i am going to do a comic about simon, the brain tumor. i named him that after hearing the news. just to make it less scary. i want to explore comics more to use in my children's books and i thought this would be a great entry point. simon needs to be brush pen inked, and perfect solution: inktober 2022! i'm asking for "accountabillibudies"...so keep me honest this fall! thanks, guys. and please feel free to give feedback and critiques, my skin is pretty thick so have at it! seriously. much appreciated!

@jennmaynard73 welcome to the forums! I’m sorry to hear of your misfortune, my mother in law had a successful brain tumor removal about five years ago, it was apparently a little smaller than a baseball if you can believe it! So I’m hopeful for you! As for accountability, I hear you on that. I always start strong with inktober and then after about a week I just take a hard dive. This is a very supportive community, I’m sure you’ll find what you need!

@jennmaynard73 welcome to the forum! I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I love that you're using Simon as a positive inspiration rather than letting him get the best of you. The stress, I'm sure is overwhelming. You've got this! Kick Simon to the curb, and nail inktober!

@jennmaynard73 Welcome to the forum! Yes, I will be your accountability buddy- I wish to do Inktober too for the first time. I am sorry to hear about your personal challenges but feel wow! you are yet another inspiration on the forums for us all to not procrastinate and get on with life and art. My plan is to create small pieces of art and try out as many different types of inking tools that i have, so there will be dip pen pieces, rotring pen line work, brush pen and more!

@PenAndrew you go! let's kick inktober's cah-boose! all the different pens you plan on using sound very interesting...i love dip pens and might give those another go at some point! draw on, man...draw on.
