Are Caricatures Considered Real Art?
-
Should I return to traditional art? How do I make my digital work look natural? Are caricatures really art? Jake Parker, Lee White, and Will Terry discuss all this and more in this episode.

I have to say I like these listener question episodes best. The interviews are nice too, but the banter among the three of you keeps me laughing while I'm painting alone, which has been a huge mood booster.
I don't know if this has been said before or if it's too much to say, but the three of you compliment each other so well, you're a great trio for a podcast like this and I wish I had known about 3PP and SVS a lot sooner in my art journey!
Sorry for the "fan girl" type of message haha
thanks for all that you guys do!

@Kristen-Lango Ha! There needs to be a critique arena prompt where we get to cartoonify Will, Lee and Jake or reinvent them as animal characters
I agree, they have such fun and distinct personalities, I always grin when they make fun of each other.
Actually, I would love for the three of them do the prompt one month and to seriously grill each other, no-holds-barred. Then we get to vote who wins based on their roasting session. That would be fascinating.

@Meekipink hahaha I love every bit of this! I vote yes for both of those ideas

I just wanted to thank Jake, Will and Lee for reading my question on their podcast last week. I am the one who asked about caricatures, and I look forward to their interview with Tom Richmond.
Thank You

@DoodleMick Yes, and as far as I am concerned caricature is art! I would just add that it's a niche form of cartooning and comics. Good question. One of the students that graduated a year before me, did caricatures on my illustration degree and he had an Italian magazine interested in his work, he had to create about 30 new images in a week! I never heard if he got the job. He was pretty good.
-
@DoodleMick So, I have not seen you on the forum for a long time, how is your work and study?
-
@PenAndrew
I took the Childrens Book Pro Course, and just now finishing up my manuscript. Been taking the SVSLearn other courses as well. I need to get better on the social media thing. I always feel like a small fish in a large ocean. -
@DoodleMick Yes, I felt the same but I think the more you participate on the forum, the quicker you can turn that around. It is just in your head, don't focus on that. Try and post some more work as soon as you can.

@DoodleMick Yes, the Tom Richmond interview will be very interesting to hear. I didn't even realise that Mad Magazine was still going!

@PenAndrew Tom and Des are working on a new ClapTrap project. Check it out.

@DoodleMick I see he also teaches workshops for $500.00 for two days!
