July Contest: Rabbit Road Race
-
Hi all! We know it's summer vacay, but for those of you who are still around, don't forget about the July contest!
The prompt this time is: Rabbit Road Race
We want to see a rabbit character (or characters), an environment of some kind, and a road race. Your rabbit(s) could be on foot, bikes, cars, or anything you can think of that involves a road. Your image should tell a story. That might mean that your character is behind in the race and needs to catch up, or they are far ahead and think they can slow down, or they have just won/lost the race, and there's some visual cue that explains why. Feel free to do a full-page illustration or a spot illustration.
Be creative, and do something that will make us think. Remember, concept is king. Also…cute always wins
As always, be sure to submit via the Critique Arena website. Please note that the Submit Your Art! button will now take you to your SVSLearn student account, where you will be prompted to log in and submit your image in the Critique Arena course.
And we would love it if you post your final entry right here too so everyone can check it out and comment!
Entries are due by July 31.
Good luck everyone!

@Asyas_illos This concept is fun and more unique than your first!
-
@Heather-Boyd haha thanks! I was falling asleep and literally woke up and scribbled down a sleepy sketch and went back to bed.
-
@Asyas_illos I imagine the carrot in front saying, "I could have run faster if you'd stop nibbling on me!"
-
@ArtMelC I had her biting at first but I couldn’t make her seem joyful at the same time, she just looked “hangry” lol so I switched it up. Also had bites taken out of the top hat carrot too
-
@Asyas_illos I looooooooove it!
-
@carlianne thanks carlianne! Congrats on your kickstarter!
-
Yes! I like the 2nd concept too! And i love the floating balloons. Makes it seem like a celebration race.
-
@Asyas_illos thank you!!
-
I am curious, If I get my 2 weeks trial membership can I participate on this contest?
-
@Eliana-Bastidas Maybe? As long as your trial falls on the critique arena date? Perhaps @AustinShurtliff or @Lisa-F can help you with that question.
-
@Asyas_illos Okay! Thanks, I will draw the illustration first then try the 2 weeks trial. Your suggestion is actually really good, that way I will be able to focus on the videos.

@Eliana-Bastidas as long as you have the trial when you submit you are good. I hope that helps!
