This is a story about a young girl named Alice who discovers the magic of artificial intelligence. She creates her own AI, named Sparkle, and together they go on adventures and use their combined knowledge to make the world a better place. The story explores the incredible abilities of AI and the importance of using them for good. It is a tale of friendship and exploration, filled with magic and wonder.

This book was also co-created using AI tools to both aid in writing and illustration and is the first of its kind to do so.

Alice and Sparkle is a children's story at heart that hopes to inspire children, encourage their curiosity and learning, in one of the most technologically exciting moments in our lifetime.

If this is the future of children's books, then say goodbye to drawing characters consistently 😃

@Michael-Angelo-Go I read the article and having an it husband I completely get their fascination with it and that they would try something like this and that it's a curiosity so people would be interested to buy it. He could never do a fantastic job using the AI because he isn't aware of all these points of great writing and illustration. I also read he is hestitant to use it like this again with copyright issues being unresolved. With many people they are completely unaware and thinking outside their frame of reference to understand how much of a breach of copyright it is and what that actually means. There is still a lot of awareness to be raised. The big companies however just use this as a well of money. Plenty of people would probably not be bothered with or even notice these things. It worries me most, besides the job perspective, that people rely more and more on computers for creative thinking and I wonder if we would at some point loose the ability to imagine without any input?

@Chantal-Goetheer Hi, I made this post to spread awareness. I was afraid that people would start using AI to make children's book.

The saving grace about this is the author is self-published, so AI hasn't been picked up by the big publishing companies which are the greatest source of income for illustrators.

And the fact that in none of the AI art do the characters remain consistent. Breaking one of the biggest rules in illustration.

@Michael-Angelo-Go I appreciate the post. We knew non-creatives would be testing AI out in all forms of art. Fine art, comics, and Children’s books being the obvious ones. I have a feeling soulless dollar store art, like this, is unappealing to more than art lovers. We shouldn’t get too worried unless AI replicates itself on 3D printers and starts marching in ‘down with humans’ rallies. In the mean time, I won’t be feeding the beast.

Along with the fact it's horrible at drawing hands, each illo of Alice looks like a different kid. 😅 😆 🤨

@Michael-Angelo-Go It is pretty concerning that this was made by an armature during a time when AI is in its infancy. We can laugh at it now, but think of where it could be in 5 years in the hands of someone who knows what they’re doing. We’ve got to keep raising awareness of the copyright issues that are a huge part of all this. Right now most people just think it’s a cool new glittery toy. The response I’ve had from friends and family when I explain all the copyright infringement that these companies are participating in is encouraging. My hope is that as more and more people become aware of what’s going on, there will be too much pressure on the AI companies for them to continue to ignore copyright laws.

@Michael-Angelo-Go There's no storytelling - just the characters posed like in a photoshoot... And the characters look different in each page! 😆 I don't think these AI bros realize how high the standard is in picture books. This would be laughed out of any publisher's office!

@NessIllustration I had the same reaction! I'd be laughing that out of the building too! If someone came up to me and handed me that book and I didn't know it was an AI creation I'd be like "how did this make it past editing and into print??? 😂
