@Jake-Parker, I really enjoyed this episode. Feeding the algorithm is a terrible way to create lasting artwork. Smaller communities, like the forum, are much better places to build connections with other artists.

Excellent episode! I really liked Will's suggestion on getting into a challenge with a game plan. I chose to do picture book illustrations for this year's Inktober and while some of the prompts were challenging, and my renderings weren't the best, I probably got a lot more practice in these 31 days than I had in the last year!

This episode couldn’t have come at a better time as I’m working on my social media plan but the more I’m learning about the content machine, the more I question my actual game plan.

I really appreciate the perspective on making art that’s “satisfying”. When I was on IG, I made art for likes and it showed that I wasn’t improving my craft at all. Leaving that platform and making art for nobody forced me to make art that I was happy with and I got a lot better that way.

@dinky When I found myself in the same boat I asked myself what I wanted to be, a social media rockstar or someone who makes great, lasting art. I wanted the latter and my concern about posting regularly on social media plummeted 🙂
