@natiwata This is an amazing sketch! If I could put more than one like, I would! Can't wait to see the final version!

@natiwata Its looking really good. The only thing i notice is the one boy that is pointing up, that shadow under that arm looks like it wouldn't fit with the direction of the light coming down.

Yeah I do notice the same with the shadow for the boy pointing in the sky. But good work.

@Chip-Valecek Yeah I think you're right, I hate doing shadows like this I always struggle to figure out how exactly they would be cast from odd shapes and different angles. Just changed it on the pic.

I love your lines. and the way you manage to keep those delicate pencil lines after coloring. I struggle with that... could you tell us more about how you do that?

@audrey-dowling Thanks! I usually do 3 main steps for this type of drawing.

1.) I do a super loose blue line sketch. I use blue not because it's trendy or going in a copier, but because the final drawing shows a lot easier on top of it.

2.) I reduce the blue sketch opacity to about 20%, then make a new layer and do my final drawing on top of that. When done I turn off the blue layer and set the final sketch layer to multiply, this allows me to keep the drawing on top at all times while I paint underneath.

3.) I make a new layer under the final drawing layer and I start blocking in colors and render things out. To keep the pencil sketch alive but not make it overwhelming I just play with reducing the layer opacity until it's where I want it.

                          Hope this helps!

                            thanks nat!
so you keep the pencil drawing layer on top of the color ones? mine is underneath (in multiply mode too), I'll try it your way next time
