Hi, posting in the july WIP thread helped me a lot with staying on track, so I thought I would open one, since there doesn't seem to be one already.
This prompt feels more difficult to me! I could try an idea related to pig characters I like to draw, but I am not sure I will manage to make it work... After seeing one of the entries it inspired me towards something else too, but again, seems very challenging to convey.
Just to get things moving, I made a quick sketch of Sam, very surprised of all the things I am about to draw :))))

Well... At first I wanted to use my favorite pig world, which would look something like this:
But I soon felt that the ideea being as it is difficult to convey, it would be easier if I used cats instead of pigs. I actually own a book along those lines
It's a rough sketch... Can you tell what the idea is?.... perspective and drawing in general needs more work of course, but can you get the story?

@Oana I don't know if is see the story you want me to. What I see is that the cat hypnotized the lady into seeing cats everywhere. But I don't know how or why a cat would be able to do that. Or is the lady hypnotizing the cat to see the people like that?
I agree with you that this is a challenging prompt to illustrate. I am struggling as well. -
@Oana Dr. Sam wrote a popular book about how to live life like a cat, and now people are turning into cats? Or are they wearing cat costumes?
I think you can delight readers by drawing how people are physically behaving like cats à la YouTube, showing how it's created a bonkers society.

@Mandy-Forte haha thank you for writing! It is a tough prompt and it's clear that it is not as clear as I hope. Still revising the idea, helpful input, fun and unexpected interpretation

Ok... I apologise if the following sketch is too sketchy, but I reorganized all the elements and felt like posting it, it helps me move on. I don't really expect feedback on such a terrible mess, but if you actually understand the image and have some input I would be glad to hear it

@Oana Good start! Maybe move Sam more onto the rule of thirds grid. Right now I'm seeing the cat mother and child as the main characters because they're right in the center with negative space around them. When you are adding value and color later, remember to emphasize your main character as the focal point.

One more step.... I went with the "people transform into cats and have fun cat behavior" ideea. Thought it would be too difficult but I think I managed it a bit! Had more fun too!
Now for the "easy" part... Coloring...

This thread turned to by just my own WIP, so I'll add here the final result too. I did my best to make the characters read well over the background, feel like it is still a bit muddled but pfeeew... I will stop now. Big thanks for the feedback received!!
