Practice, practice, practice

@Suzy-Heitz Nice work. Using high quality paint and paper do make a difference. I like Arches paper and M. Graham paints. Quinacridone Gold is one of my favorite colors. I really like your Easter piece.

Experimenting with Liquitex Inks. Love!

Personal project practice: Illustrated recipe.
-
@Suzy-Heitz That is really cool! I don't know if I've ever seen an illustrated recipe before!
-
@BWoodford Thanks! It was so challenging. You should defiantly give it a try!
-
This one is a picture manual. A bit rough but I managed to finish it. I'm not too handy with Photoshop so please don't be too harsh on the contrast.
-
More watercolor practice.
-
A little bit of art journaling yesterday. Does anyone else find this challenging?
-
A little dino doodle.
-
I've been experimenting with watercolor and acrylics too.
-
Drink doodles. Now, if I could figure out how to do a more complex composition I'd feel like I'd be moving forward. Cheers!

Charming, endearing work - ALL of it...(not just the last image)

I like that you're going through different styles and really exploring them! Really nice work!

A little journaling today.

First Day of School... A drawing from memory; just imagination with no reference. Boy, this is one of the hardest aspects for me to master. That and complex illustrations.
-
These are really looking good. Great job.

Hey Suzy, just looking at your images with the shoes and the cups. Those are really marketable. Have you ever looked into doing surface design work. (or perhaps you already do?) Anyway I've seen this kind of stuff on folders, pillow cases, mugs, all kinds of products. That may be a market worth looking into.
-
@Suzy-Heitz Definitely, agree with William. I have also seen a lot of editorial illustration with your style - may be worth contacting fashion magazines and other lifestyle publications (I have seen illustration of this type for example on the in flight magazines of airlines).

@smceccarelli @evilrobot Thanks so much for your comments! I have always loved patterned items like fabric, wrapping paper, etc. and have wondered about how to get into that market. I'm finding I really enjoy editorial too. I'm really working hard to find my line and be consistent ; am working to get my portfolio in line too. I've got to get a website and proper files for upload. Lee's business class really gave me such good ideas. And along with all I'm learning with SVS, I hope to have some market-worthy items soon. Thanks again for your encouragement!
