Just started on the figures and the boat - still very sketchy - shrunk the boat down quite a bit which seems to give it a lonelier feeling - not sure if i like it better or not with the smaller boat - might go back to original size..... any opinions? Thanks again

This is really turning into a masterpiece those trees look fantastic. You have so much story telling going on here it's really good.

@evilrobot Than you so much William! - such a huge compliment from someone i respect - really made my daySeems like i need another week or so for this - i feel like the things i did early in the piece are very rough now that i have worked on the two main figures - i think it will be a late night tonight - thank you everyone for your help and encouragement!

A-maz-ing!! I really like the openness of the interpretation, could be landing in a new place with the boat going out, or could be going to the shore for the incoming ship...either way, new adventure awaits! Wonderful job Kevin! good luck!

@natiwata - Thank you again for the huge compliment and support - i often wonder where drawings like mine would live - i really do love children's books and thats what brought me here but what i naturally come up with and enjoy drawing are kind of dark images that do not seem to fit in - i think YA is where i should start picturing my work - thank you!

@Kevin-Longueil I agree with all the other comments - this really is a superlative piece, I love the drawing - you always have drawn trees so beautifully and this time you've woven them into a fantastic composition which describes the text perfectly. It makes me want to read more of the story and find out where the man will be led to next. Great job!
I also agree with @natiwata's comment about this style being suited to YA illustration in particular...
