Live Portfolio Class
-
Hey guys,
I mentioned this on the forum loosely, but wanted to go ahead and throw it out there for planning purposes. I'm running a live portfolio class starting in JANUARY.
This class will be around 4-6 weeks long and focus on getting your overall body of work consistent and looking good. It will require work from you as you will be updating and working on existing or new pieces based on your assessment. It will be $550 and we will only have limited space.
Let me know if you have any questions at all. In the meantime, I'll be putting the details together and creating a place to reserve your space. I'm really looking forward to it! : )

@Lee-White Awesome. I think we'll all be scrambling to get one of these spots.
-
Consider me booked.
-
Sounds perfect! I will definitely book on this, if I can get a place - I agree that it's sure to be popular!
-
Sounds exciting!!!!
-
@Lee-White Sounds awesome! How close to this Portfolio class in January will your Live Watercolor Class launch?
I'm taking the Live PB writing this Fall and really want to take the Watercolor or the Portfolio too, but if they are scheduled to close together I may need to pick one or the other.
If that is the case I will go with the Watercolor Live class, I'm soooo looking forward to it!

I think I'm going to do the watercolor class in the Spring because it is taking so much prep time. I'm still finishing some books and am launching my first kickstarter mid-October, so things have been busy in the studio! All fun stuff though!
-
Awesome! Looking forward to that kick starter too!
-
Sounds amazing @Lee-White will definitely be trying to snag a place! Thanks so much for all the great classes you offer.
-
here's a quick preview of the kickstarter!
-
@Lee-White Nice! I don't know if that's going to be your final cover or not, but it's definitely one of my favorite images of yours. Along with the giant bunny and the girl riding the sea horse.
-
It's GORGEOUS, Lee!! Can't wait to back the project and page through this beauty once it's funded!
-
It is going to be the final because it's the most known image I've done. We are actually at the end of the edition for prints on it so I'm going to have to retire it after this.
-
I'd love to see him in a book too, Lee! He definitely looks like he has a story to tell! So much charm! It is definitely one of those stop in your tracks when you see it and immediately makes you curious...hey where's he going tonight?
-
Hi lee,I would love to attend this course!!! would this be good for a illustrator newbie such as me? Would I be able to learn as I go,even if my learning curve was steep??
-
I'm so excited for the portfolio class, but will there be an option to make payments (maybe over the next few months, before the class starts)?
-
@bluesky71 I think this would be a good intermediate to advanced class. Ideally, you should have a pretty solid amount of work under your belt. Then we begin the process of really focusing on what you are showing and who you are showing it to. You shouldn't be struggling too much with technique to get the most out of this class.
@amberwingart We don't offer a payment plan BUT your bank does! Just put aside the desired amount into a savings account. Easy Breezy!
BTW: I am looking to offer this critique based format more than once. So don't fret too much if you don't get in the first time. : )
-
I'm so glad to hear you'll be offering it more than once! Unfortunately, since registration is opening soon, I haven't put aside any savings for it, so I won't be able to do it. But I'll start saving now for the next class.
-
I just got done watching the class on creating luminous lighting, and it blew my freaking mind! I wish I was prepared to start talking about my portfolio, but my art needs to get better before I can even think about how to orginize it. Can't wait for the watercolor class though.

Thanks Lee
