@Lee-White Mine is the opposite of yours! AAAHHH!!!! I need to get it in order now! It's a mess!
-
@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen lol, you are funny, mine is a super mess right now, sharing with the dogs/dog beds and food, but I am not brave enough to share pictures haha, I love love your paper shelves!

@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen Digging all the art on the wall. PS @Lee-White is kinda hard to live up to. He has the whole organized, minimalist thing down. lol me not so much. Mine is organized chaos..sort of! I can see my floor today! That's a good sign lol

@lmrush I started cleanign and got overwhelmed
Heer's what I'm watching now to motivate me
I really am going for minimizing because my husband is going to retire this year and we want to hit the road as full time RVers :-)!!! Hopefully we don't kill each other along the way

@Charlie-Eve-Ryan Thanks
I have so much art hanging round that I don't know what to do with! Everything I have done in the past 5 years or so is in that room and I need to get rid of it somehow
I also am obsessed alternately with family history and have shelves of that to go through.....Ay ay ay!

Since I couldn't build a studio (I rent) and don't have an extra room, I decided to make a corner of my bedroom into a workspace. I built a corner space out, buying cedar planks at Home Depot and mounting them to the walls after weathering and sanding them to look more rustic. It's much nicer to work in my bedroom now!
Fun to see everyone's workspaces! -
@natiwata Very nice!

Just updated the photos from my original shared studio post (didn't realize the "old studio" pics didn't load). Still miss that joint.

I took a picture right now from where I'm sitting. my studio is jam packed with my printmaking equipment, and my kids roam in here leaving me gifts and have taken over most of the table you see on the bottom right.

@MirkaH very nice!

And....we are practically done! A few details here and there, but the new studio is now finished and operative. What happened is that we have taken a long hard look at our life and work habits, and this brought us to the decision to convert the largest room in the house (about 430 sqf, 40 sqm) into a family studio. The classical "living room" (couch, tables, television) which was there before was almost never used, so we reclaimed the space for a different use and transformed instead my former smaller studio space into an "entertainment" room, with lots of large floor pillows, television and music. This may seem unconventional to most, but the truth is I work best when I am not alone (I love open plan offices, for example), and when I can feel life and buzz around me. I was like that since I was a child (I used to do my homework in the living room with the television blasting and my Mum doing chores). It does not matter how many people are around, as long as they are not talking directly to me....and they mostly comply
I am very happy about how this turned out (we all are!) - the working environment has made a huge quality step for me (even though I liked my old studio too).

@smceccarelli It looks great! Very nice style, light and spacious
It's lovely that you've found a way to maximise the space in your house..sometimes it can take a bit of time to work out how to do that and even if it's unconventional, whatever helps you get the best out of your time, is the best for you
Also it's good that you have planned out plenty of space to extend your book collection

@smceccarelli GORGEOUS
