@Tyson thank you! It's all done in photoshop, the sketch, rendering, everything. I used a pencil-like brush (with a little help from SVS tutorial on photoshop pencil brushes) and draw with it like I would if I was drawing it with actual pencils. It's a tedious work, but it still saves me a lot of time (unlike the real pencils and paper)

        Hi
I would love some feedback on my draw50things piece. I originally designed Becky (a spaceship pilot) and her dog so thought it would be fun to explore what type of world she would live in. I have plans to develop this world further by designing the ship and the rest of the crew.

          Hi Will,
I love your idea of critiques on your YouTube channel!
Here is an image based on a nursery rhyme:

If you use it, a credit and link would be fine.
In my illustration the kids get to go up in the basket.
The image was etched in copper and hand coloured with watercolour.

There was an old woman tossed up in a basket
          Nineteen times as high as the moon;
Where she was going I couldn't but ask it,
For in her hand she carried a broom.

"Old woman, old woman, old woman," quoth I,
"O whither, O whither, O whither, so high?"
"To brush the cobwebs off the sky!"
"Shall I go with thee?" "Aye, by and by."

@mag Awesome thank you! I have CS3 Photoshop and a Wacom tablet just got them up and working so I only have 2 rendered Photoshop pieces one is on this post "Pickles the Pig" (Pig in an apron in his workshop doorway) and the other is another Post I did on here unfinished > http://forum.svslearn.com/topic/3015/raven-his-writing-desk-work-in-progress

I want to get a new Photoshop but (this might sound ridiculous) but I dont understand which one is the normal one to purchase they seem to have this monthly subscription purchase thing??????? What is that? am not familiar with the brushes in Photoshop and once I get the updated version Im on it! Im in a big discovery phase right now and am chomping at the bit like a horse on crack cocaine except Im a dad on coffee. With my work I don't like messy (which i do messy), thats one of the many elements that appeals to with your style and thats one of the things I need more comprehension and work in. Thank you for the reply! What Photoshop do you use? Is it pay monthly?

Oh no! I hope I'm not too late. I would just love it if you'd consider either of these? (And credit would just be great, thank you so much ❤ my website is n0ireclipse.myportfolio.com Edit: oops. And my name is Jessica Perri. )
The first image is surrounding the theme of "victory" in which the king of the land has finally gained dominance over the dragons and his knights are celebrating with him.
                    alt text
The second is more of an exciting piece in which a girl went out into the sea during a bad storm and her friend goes out to retrieve her.

The concept behind this piece is just a quirky coffee truck serving coffee.
I wonder if the scene would do better in a city setting showing building behind.
(Also, I realize the white cat blends in with the snow in the background.)

This is a 4 years progress, time in which I watched every tutorial that I could find or afford. Will Terry's influence is obvious.
At this time I feel like this is the strongest piece in my portfolio so it will be a bit heart breaking to see the holes in it but also very very helpful. Thank you for your time and consideration!

All excellent points and you didn't even make me cry! In all seriousness: that was a pretty obvious mistake regarding how I had the floor drawn. I also appreciate that tip on how it is a good idea to draws rooms with at least 2 walls showing in order to create more interesting pieces.
I think I was too nervous to put the person in 3/4 view at the time I painted it (didn't think I could pull it off) but I 100% should have done so.

                                Thanks again!

gulp Here we go - huge preview of a piece that will actually only be printed at 10cm high. 🙂

It is a tarot card, Ten of Pentacles, within a space theme. The card traditionally is a patriarch looking at his achievements and family, celebrating his accomplishments, family, and financial wealth, while dogs play in the foreground.

                                      This is me: http://gila.be/ - https://www.instagram.com/gila.be/

I started painting in PSD a year ago, still have the luxury of having my money come from design work, so I am slowly shifting to illustration.

The concept: "A future explorer landed on an alien planet to find mysterious monuments engraved with alien constellations."

                                            Artist notes: (Just extra thoughts)

                                            • So one problem I found was the white line in the sky was supposed to be a small ring to show this was an alien planet. It didn't turn out like I thought so In the future I can do something different

                                            • I wanted to try to have the light from the sky bounce onto the objects which I think went well, but would like to see a professional opinion on my colors and values.

                                            • Because of the astronauts helmet I thought to have the hill rise up to show he was looking towards the monument. I don't know if it succeeded, but I tried.

Thanks for consideration. If you choose this I'm excited to see any professional advice you could give. Thanks again.
