Kendra Minadeo I Piper Loves Harley | Digital Sketch
-
This is a commission I'm doing for a client for their wedding anniversary. They asked for their two cats, Piper (a gray happy fat cat) and Harley (a orange grumpy alpha cat). The final will be in watercolor but I'm changing up my workflow and doing the rough sketches digitally. Would love feedback.

If I were you I would put them in a different position unless that position is intentional. Also, the cat on the bottom looks very unhappy. They are cute cats but make her happy looking.
-
This is a cute painting, but the position is err a little suggestive.
-
very cute kitties! and yes the position is suggesting a different kind message at the moment. Maybe that what they want? O.O

@Kendra-Minadeo Hi Kendra, lovely illustration. I agree with comments. It's very suggestive. And should they both not look happy!? Lovely style. Have a great day.
-
@Steve-Young can't a fat cat squish another cat and it not be suggestive?

@peter-jarvis
The relationship that the client described of their two cats notes that one is the Grumpy Cat who likes to be in charge and not let anyone touch him (Orange Cat) - BUT their Gray Cat is SUPER friendly and ADORES the Grumpy Cat. So in this relationship the fat Gray Cat IS forcing the orange Grumpy Cat to snuggle and that makes Grumpy Cat... well... grumpy.The client is happy with how this sketch turned out. Quote Client: "OMG that is so them!!! I absolutely adore it...my husband is going to love it!" So on that note I'm moving forward with this piece without changes.
Thanks again for your comments everyone!

Your right, i know images can, says more about me than anything else. As long as you and the client like it thats all that matters.

@Steve-Young Thanks Steve.

@Kendra-Minadeo I love it! Total awww material.
I got right away that it was a super friendly cat on top of a grumpy one. I must spend too much time "researching" cute cat pictures on the internets...
