FINAL DAY of the 30 day watercolor challenge AND a monster for June Junkai to boot.
-
This is painted from my 3 1/2 year old grandson's description of a monster: 10 eyes, 10 legs (oops did 20), three big green eyes and monster claws. He loves watermelon so I threw some in for good measure
I think I worked hardest on this one. I don't necessarily think it's the best though. Needs more depth, etc. but I worked on ti until 4 am and then got up and went straight for the studio to finish it. Maybe I can fix it up later? I think I know some things I can do to improve it.

Cool! The bubble ears are a nice touch. That made me smile. I think adding a bit of depth is a good call.

@TessW Thanks

I think you have a great idea for a childrens book here... I liked that tou were asking kids about monsters and perhaphs its worth thinking of creation of monster catalogue or smth, cause your monsters are very plesant and fun;)
-
@aska ItΒ΄s a great idea for sure...unfortunately it has already been done. "The Monster Project" collects monster drawings from kids of all ages and then coordinates hundreds of illustrators to do their own interpretation of the same monster. They publish a catalogue every year and it is a joy for the eyes!
@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen, you could definitely fit well in there!

@smceccarelli Sounds like great stuff! Nevertheless doesnt mean that this area is taken forever and nobody can come up with another monster catalogue. Look at the movies and how they copy the same pattern, but people still go to the cinema;)
