Throwing a hi from the uk

I've just signed up to the svs courses. I've been illustrating for....well too long. But never taken any formal classes, just learning from books. Though I've got art teachers in the family. Illustration isn't my only line of work, but next year it'll be my main support so time has come really to become much more professional about it. It's only ever been a side line. Though I've done some books and stuff.
I got put off from courses when twenty odd years ago I took a course and the teacher said i knew more than them....I walked out.
Delighted to say I am already discovering things I didn't know. And for about a uk tenner a month....cool!
So with all your help here I'm hoping to push my illustrations way further than ever before, correct some bad habits, get some new picture books done....
Just finishing a current commission, so here's a picture of that, and another commission form last week. First one is coloured pencil, A4, just on the iPhone. Second is digital painting on iPad. My preference is for the second style, faster, more fun. Would like to get away from the Quentin Blake look however! So looking to keep the fun but make it a bit more unique.
