I am joining the forum again. The last two SVS classes; Branding for Creatives and How to Discover Your Style have given me new insight and perspective on my goals as an artist. “What kind of illustrator do I want to be?” As every artist knows being original is difficult. Lee says to stay true to your influences, run towards your heroes, and find your tribe. I’ve started my Dream Portfolio and it’s making me focus on the style I associate with and reduce the chatter. Finding my tribe, also requires participation. Giving and receiving feedback is more important for personal growth than winning the race, and so this is why I am back in the forum.
