Are you reworking your old illustrations?

I am in the process (it's actually a never ending journey) of updating my portfolio. There is a few illustration in there that I like, but would need significant reworking to not end up in the trash. Do you usually rework old illustrations or do you just do new work from scratch ?!
I know @lee-white is a proponent of reworking old piece; I just wanted to see what others do

I try to avoid "saving" old work by reworking them unless there were only a few issues that needed to be fixed. If the idea was a great one, then I would just redraw and paint the whole thing with fresh eyes and knowledge, as you could be forever stuck in a loop of making your old work look a little better.

Sometimes. If I have an image that has a solid idea and design, but just needs more time refining, then yes. I've been doing that recently with some images I did six months or so ago, painted them in a day, so didn't have time to bring them up to portfolio quality.

Since I just switched to photoshop, I was thinking it would be a good time to rework some old pieces I tossed out of my portfolio while using the time to learn the program.

I see "reworking" as "looking at an old piece and making a new piece with the experience I have now." Then you can compare them and see how much you've grown.
