@jason-bowen It depends on the class format on whether it will be available as a subscription video. Some classes are going to be very assignment/crit heavy with most of the content being very specific interaction between the teacher and student. Those are unlikely to be a video in the subscription. Then other classes are very demo specific such as a perspective class or any specific technique kind of content. Those are better for doing as a live class and then also releasing it into the subscription. Will's texture painting class is a good example of this kind of a class and it will be in the subscription later this year.
The critique heavy classes are tough because there isn't that much general "instruction" per se, it's really the instructor giving an assignment and the student doing the assignment. Then it builds on that content. It's hard to make a video out of that and it gets tricky with the privacy of the students who are submitting work.
I'm not sure where the children's book class will land. We will probably use the children's book class that is already in the subscriptions as a template for building on. So if you haven't seen that one and done the work, it would be a good place to start. : )

I'm game for the digital painting class I'm sure it will fill up fast. If I don't make it into that one the children's book illustration class would be awesome too.

Cool! But how to choose between children's books and book covers? (As she considers skipping food, sleep, work, and social life for the entire fall and doing both. ) Are any of the May classes live critique classes? The environment one sounds interesting.
Guys, the live classes are worth it! I have worked so hard in Turbocharging and learned so much!

@lauraa Ha ha, Food, sleep and friends are TOTALLY overrated!! Yes, the Turbocharging class has been an adventure and I have loved it. I'm really hoping I can do Head and Hands...and Digital Painting at some point. (But I probably need environments a lot)

@lee-white Any update on the May classes? I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do for spring/early summer and trying to save some space for the environments class. I'm also thinking about enrolling in a brick and mortar class in July and and so I'm wondering if it can all work together. Thanks!

yep, we will be making announcements shortly. Head and hands is running and so is backgrounds and environments. Jakes class on how to draw everything (the live version) is still under construction so will probably start in fall.

@lee-white Oh, ok. So will environments come out in a live, critiqued version shortly and then be available as subscription after the first run is finished, or will it be a subscription class from the start? Or am I missing some other possibility?
And then in the fall, book covers, children's books and digital will be live?
I'm looking to see if I can find a helpful live class before attending a "brick and mortar" workshop in late July. Thanks!

@lauraa most of the in depth classes from now on will start as a live class and run 1 term, then will be put in the subscription. They will be offered as live classes as well.
david hohn's head and hands class will be the only live class that runs this summer. Then the others will run in the fall as live versions and be put in the subscription after that.
NOTE: we just launched a new video for subscribers yesterday too! A Jake Parker sketch video! : )

@lauraa yep, it is! we are so excited to offer the new live classes and subscription classes. I'm working on the basic painting class now and it's gonna be GOOD.
