Hey Guys a newbie just introducing himself
-
@mrcurtisv I got about 10 years on you. I started college with the idea of animation, but during one of my classes the teacher mentioned how much money and jobs there are in web design right now. Still being able to be creative I switched gears and landed a job while I was still in school. Been with the same company for 18 years! I still get to do my art as a hobby and side jobs so its a win win for me.

Hi Curtis! Nice to meet you! Iโm new and from the UK too! Where are u from? Iโm in Worcestershire
Rach
-
@chip-valecek that's good that you get to be creative , my current position is more of the dev side as we have artworkers and designers
-
@rachy hey Rachel, thanks for the welcome, I'm from Wolverhampton and I know Worcester quite a bit that's where I went to university
I lived there for the duration of my uni course I'm back in Wolverhampton but I work In Birmingham
-
@mrcurtisv thatโs funny! I went to Worcester too! What did u study? and when did u graduate?
-
@rachy i studied computing and sport studies and i graduated in 2014. How about you?
-
@mrcurtisv I studied Fine art practice and finished in 2011.. wish Iโd have chosen Illustration instead now lol!
-
@rachy lol yeah it would of been nice to study illustration at uni, what was Fine Art like?
-
@mrcurtisv it was fun, very experimental, you could pretty much make anything with anything if you could justify and contextualise it. Although I kept getting told I was too illustrative as if that was a bad thing! Were you up in the DAC for the computing part of yours?
-
@rachy lol well there you go, seems you were meant to be an illustrator even back then
What's the DAC? I had my modules at City campus.
-
@mrcurtisv o the DAC was the fancy pants computer bit up on Henwick Road campus. Thinking about it I think it meant digital arts centre.
-
@rachy erm i think I may have seen it once, you needed to be given access i think, but no we didn't use it as lol we only had lectures at city campus
