I think your cat's face is very cute! The body looks a little more like a small dog to me especially the tail. Cats limbs are a little longer and leaner mostly and the tail is longer. I like the smallness though and maybe that's what you want, I would make the tail a little longer though.

I agree with thrace for the tail. the body doesn't bother me but the tail should definitely be longer and less immobile, with a bit of smooth movement to it

Nice going I think the eyelashes helped 🙂

@Thrace-Shirley-Mears I think your right. I knew it looked a bit too much like a dog's body. Let me do some more work on the limbs. I might need to look at some kitten reference to check the anatomy. Do a draw of a kitten bone structure over the top might help I think.

@audrey-dowling Yes, I agree. I think I will try that out and see what the result will be. Thanks for the feed back.

Hi there, thanks for all the input. So I made some changes to the feet as they were making the body feel like a dog and made the tail longer too. I also lowered the face and reduced the size to make the head feel bigger. I hope it's an improvement. I do feel it's a lot better than before and it's communicating what I wanted. I'm pretty happy with it. Any one else want to comment? You've already helped alot and I'm really appreciative of it too. Thanks!

Good luck! I think the last one looks a lot better with the gestures and poses.

Thanks, I like the last one as well. I'm at the point where I have no idea how I'm going to do the gestures or poses, expressions. Boy, this is all new to me. Keeping a consistent character throughout this book is going to be a huge challenge.

@daiolupo you can type in just about any kind of expression or gesture you want into google and see pictures to use for reference. Also you can just type in facial expressions and you will get all you want.

I like the cat. Reminds me of a book cover I illustrated earlier in the year.

The 3/4 view needs a little work though in my opinion, just that it feels like it's a front view shifted over to the right a bit rather than feeling like the features are wrapping around the face. The eyes, nose and mouth need to feel like they're a 3D object.

                                  Keep up the great work,
                                  Ace

@Ace-Connell I believe your right about the 3/4 view. I'll have to update it. I'm so glad to have this sort of feed back. Thank you.

@Ace-Connell Okay, I had a chance to do a little more work on the 3/4 view and I think it works. Boy, it was a hard work though, I almost gave up.

@daiolupo There we go 🙂 Much better! Yeah, the 3/4 view can be a nightmare sometimes but it's totally worth all the hard work as it's much more believable.

                                        Great work.
