      Hey, I'm looking to study more on facial expressions - anyone have a good online site or book suggestion that has really good photos to study from?

        This one: Facial Expressions: Babies to Teens

        Also, if you google “Character sheets” you will find at least some of the character expressions sheets for visual development for various animation films: those are gold-worth.
        Some of them are also available on Pinterest, on the boards of “Character Design Reference” - which is run by the same people who do the Character Design Challenge on facebook and is a priceless collection for character design by itself.

          @smceccarelli
          Thank you so much for taking the time to share these references with me - the book in kid expressions is huge - such an invaluable resource if I move more towards children book illustrations.

          I also really enjoyed listening to your interview with Will - especially the bit about going to conferences to really engage with the industry you want to work in - since then I've been doing a lot of research into the different kinds of art conventions out there and look forward to attending them.
          Congratulations on your book! I can't wait to see it in stores!!

          Lastly, I keep forgetting that we have a search option here on the forums with a plethora(ooo! $100 word!) of knowledge to sift through, so thank you all for putting up with me when I repost subjects that have already been discussed.

            I was gonna suggest the other book by Mark Simon: Facial Expressions

            @smceccarelli beat me to it XD

            Mark Simon used to have a website where he sold PDF copies of his books. Not sure if it still exists, though.

              I do actually have that book and I love it - the image and lighting quality isn't the best in some shoots though, and that drives me a little nuts - but I do love all the different kinds of people he used and their range of expressions.
