Hmm, I am just wondering, what's up with that ball. and in the day 4 image it seems to me like it is rising rather than falling. It seems to me like on the council they are preparing to unleash it and on the next image it is sucessfully launched. Did I read the story correctly?

Hollow Daze is an anthology of short stories i wrote to tell the "origins" of american holiday traditions. these are sporadic illustrations that will support the text. so well done, they won't really make all that much sense during inktober. but yes, the first one is the "new years" story and yes...it ends in tragedy... all the stories have a bit of dark humor to them. think "Grimm Fairytales" meets "Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy"
