Great thread! I love seeing how people grow over the years. I am actually working on a theme I did back when I started to learn how to work digital. I will post it when I am done.

@Jason-Bowen your newer piece has so much more flow and life to it.

@Braden-Hallett I like your piece from 2012, you can tell you had the skill for design back then. It has only gotten better.

@Lydia-M your characters are so cute in your new piece. I just want to hug that pig.

Your newest work is quite a bit more developed compared to your older work.
You seem to have settled into a nice understanding of the oil paint and how to move it around the canvas, your brush strokes are not overly complicated but convey a sense of light and movement without commanding too much work with the paint and your palette is much more sophisticated.
You have also properly developed your background, mid ground and foreground in equal measure making for a much more balanced painting and the composition is well thought out.

            Well done!

Here is my old vs new. I stated digital painting in 2012 and one of my first pieces was Little Red Riding Hood. 7 years later and here is my take on Little Red Riding Hood now:

@Chip-Valecek You can definitely see a vast improvement between your pictures! Your zombies are amusing. you should do some with eyes too because I just put some eyes in your wolf to see what it looked like and it looked awesome. 🙂

@Jason-Bowen funny you say that cause I love eyes. If you look at some of my other art, it usually has bigger eyes and focus on them. I did have full eyes on this piece till the end and I painted them out. My thought was with my few different styles I play with, the grungier zombie like paintings will be pupil-less. The cartoony more rendered paintings will have the full eye.
