Bad art

I just read an author comment on kdp. His advice was write bad books and learn from them. I also think we can learn a lot from making bad art. Not bad on purpose of course, but do the best we currently can and put it out there in front of better artists. There's no shame in being "less talented or skilled" as someone else. There will always be artists better than you but, you can learn so much and get feedback from other artists who were also once less skilled
. People who understand. I keep making book projects and I know I'm not the best but, kids still like them. That's what's important. My five year old grandson called me a great artist the other day . That was cool. I can draw better than he can with over fifty years more experience. Put your work out there and have fun.- list item

@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen Very true! Not only can we learn from bad art, I'd say it's impossible to get to good art without doing bad art first. That means every amazing artist out there has been through it too, and there's no shame to be had whatsoever.

Yup! Feeling like I couldn't do bad art made me quit for 5 years! Lol. When I finally told myself it was ok to make bad art- that's when I got to work and started to progress. You don't expect someone to magically play a musical instrument with out a lot of practice and ugly music making first. Same thing with art.

@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen that's exactly what i have been doing right now. I know my drawing style is underdeveloped and not very appealing but i just do it because it is a good learning experience. I learned more in the past 6 days then i have in two months doing random drawings. and ofcourse the courses on SVS helped a lot too
