Great improvement, but what a good idea. We should all find drawings from a year ago and redo them. What a great measure of progress. I love that idea 🙂

So beautiful!! There is so much more emotion in your second piece, and the lighting is magic!

@Ace-Connell Yeah, it's sometimes hard to see the progress you make yourself since you're so close to your work. The first piece was one I was proud of, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how the second one turned out.

Also, this picture is embarrassing, but I keep it around to remind myself that progress is possible. Behold...the first piece I ever did in Photoshop (March, 2012. I was proud of this one at the time...)

I love the change of the dog pose and the rain effect. I want to know more about the story!

@Naroth-Kean No linear story to this piece. Just an overall feeling I wanted to convey. I do a short write-up about each of my Helmet & Hound pieces on my website. Here is the link to this piece: http://shinjifujioka.com/blog/2015/11/21/everything-has-a-season

@Kris-Knight I've actually tried video-recording software. But since I tend to draw in short bursts, it became a little bothersome to always make sure I was recording. It's still something I'd like to do eventually. Right now I'm just not that disciplined, lol.

The refinement in your painting has definitely increased - I love the reflections, the droplets in the water, and the soft lighting.. Though I also love the sheet rain and the contrast in values in the first one...both very nice pieces 🙂
