Your wolf is gorgeous! I would move his head just a smidge...it's a little too close to the line of the tree on the left. Also, don't forget to add shadows from the trees and red--just like the wolf's shadow (which is great!). It's looking good!

Creating this "dumping" thread for random sketches and class assignments. I am taking the "Illustrating Children's books" this week and my first attempt at taking animals making them more like characters I love in the books. It really changes my style and how I view wanting to color them for some reason not sure why yet.
I haven't finished it but started the lighting class and this was my first attempt at lighting. Until now all of my drawings have been very 2 dimensional and commercial so this is a new thing for me completely. I had to redo red riding hood so she is not done and completely a WIP.

@Naroth-Kean Thanks! The trees are my favorite part. This piece I was trying to work with textures a ton to see what I liked and didn't like and how lighting effected them.
@Joy-Heyer Thank you so much! I agree, I actually at this stage had just separated out the trees from the other pieces and I need to move him over even more.

Really trying to figure out what style I want to concentrate on and what feels good doing it and the end result looks the best. I colored up the doodles from earlier. My favorite was the polar bear, not a style I have ever done before but it was fun and I liked how he turned out the best. Even though I like the drawings of the girl really well and want to develop her out doing things my daughter did when she was younger I think water color is my weakest.
Welcome any feedback on what style if any grabs you or you think is my strongest. I will probably finish out the dec3 one in that style due to the time restraints fyi.
Like this version of him much better.

These are looking awesome so far - You've really taken to this style quickly! I look forward to seeing more of your work - keep the momentum!

@amberwingart Thanks so much!

You have a very distinct style, really good stuff! I think maybe you could push the values a bit more on that last painting, but I dunno, it also kind of works with your style in a way, so maybe that's what you're going for.

@Kasey-Snow Thanks! I am torn because I was going for an old faded christmas card look but it does still bug me that certain spots could use a bump I agree.

Couldn't work it in in time for the prompt but this came to mind and ties in with my snowmen. I am working on trying to put in more expressions and movement/action into my work. Right now most of it is very static. I think I will paint this one out might be fun.

@Stephanie-Hider Ooh, this looks beautiful! I'll look forward to seeing the finished product - this reminds me of the Golden Age illustrators's styles...And I'm partial to a blue, green & orange color palette

@amberwingart Thank you so much! I colored it to match the colors of the snowman behind Santa as if this was another page and he is on his way.
