In order to explore different software, techniques and styles, I have started an alphabet project. It is taking longer than I thought, but you can see the progression of each letter so far. I have found this beneficial in developing new ways of thinking about the design problems and solutions. I really like your project! The rock climber one is pretty cool too. -
The hippo background is especially nice. It shows dimension where some of the others are blurred and flat.
