This value study is starting to pull together hoping to finish it and take it to color. it has definitely taught me a lot already and is changing the way I think and how to figure out if things are looking correct or not

did a quick reflections layer this morning which will have to be redone when brought to color. What do you guys think?

@ambiirae I think it's looking awesome; especially with the atmospheric perspective going on! The reflections look believable and really adds to the overall piece 🙂

Continuing my landscape quest and was fairly happy with this one for how quick It worked up 😁 not an original idea this was another tutorial based one but added in the background and learned about trees and snow

@Asyas_illos thank you ❤️ It’s hard to monitor your own progress until you see them near other works you did in the past

Current wip mountain peak using a reference photo to guide me along sense I’ve never made rocks very well and they have always intimidated me. This is somewhat zoomed for detail I’m happy with it so far ☺️

Calling this one finished there are still a few things that could be finished but over all I think I have learned what I can from it 😁

I'm trying really hard to continue learning new elements and push out of my comfort-zone. This week I decided now is the time I should learn rocks! Silly as it may be they have always been a challenge for me and something I’ve convinced my self I just couldn’t draw so I just avoid putting them in my paintings at all costs which is very limiting. I knew I couldn't keep it up forever and feel that over the last year sense getting my iPad I have grown a lot so I might as well give it a shot. So here's to my first rock study

Let me know what you think 😊

Here is my newest piece named The Valley of Clouds. This has been changed so many times after my initial sketch but it was always mostly focused on the sky and clouds. Please let me know what you think 😁

@ambiirae I just saw this thread- and holy bananas! The difference between your first image (which was good!) and the one you just posted- is wild! I'm so glad you made a thread for this so we can see your journey! Really nice work.

@Annaaronson thank you so much 🥰 I hadn't thought of that when this thread was originally created but someone else had mentioned it in a comment and now I love looking back and reflecting on the changes

@demotlj thank you! I would say a huge part of this last year was the ability to work digitally which helped free some of my constraints with supplies, time, and space. I have been subscribed to SVS for many years but struggled on paper due to not wanting to “waste” supplies on practice. So I think this last year I have explored more and tried many new things without the worry of running out of supplies. I also spent more time watching classes and tutorials on YouTube which taught me a lot of new techniques to work with. Over all it’s been a productive year and I’m proud of how ive grown 😊
